Fall in A Jar

Fall is probably my favorite season of the year. It's colorful, bright, sweet and even pretty warm (if the time is right). Outside, everything changes so much. The tree's turn colors and they begin to lose their leaves, only making the sky look bluer. The grass gets a little lighter, only making the flowers brighter. The outside world changes into a totally different version of itself, so why not change our inside world's a bit too! Please enjoy these super easy DIY interior house decoration idea's so you can make your home as 'autumny' as you'd like.

Fall Centrepiece

My family and I created this beautiful centerpiece together using things we picked up on a walk in the park. We already owned a large glass vase which we bought for about $10 at the local dollar store, so our centerpiece had a place to stay in. We also had to buy a candle (pumpkin scented) and a miniature pumpkin at the grocery store. Other than that, this was a very nature based project that now sits on our dining table every night...

For the walk, we brought a small bag with us and picked up everything we saw that would look the best in our home. We found a few assorted pinecones as well as some ground cherries and what I think are called gooseberries. (Do not eat any of the berries unless you are positive they are safe and edible)

To finish it off, we grabbed a few fallen leaves from the big tree in the yard and took it all back home for the final step.

After organizing our finds into separate piles we began placing each part into the vase. Do to OCD, this was a longer process than I would have liked, but in the end, it worked out so perfectly. When done, we lit our pumpkin scented candle and sat down for dinner. Between the delicious smell of the food and the burning candle, I would have to say it was probably one of the best smelling dinner's I have ever had.

Leafy Vases

Who said leaves can't be flowers too? This DIY is extremely easy, extremely fun, and extremely elegant. Although I didn't do this project (yet) I love how it looks and how I imagine it in my house. To do this, I would recommend going outside and finding a varied collection of twigs, with their leafs still on them. Take these and

put them in mason jars/vases as if they were flowers. If you wanted to make these last longer, you can buy some at some art stores, although this costs a little more money.

For an extra touch, you can add a couple other accents like cotton plants and berries, just to make the vases a little more interesting.

Memory Jars

This project is one of my favorites. I found this idea at Dove Cote, a beautiful interior design website run by an amazing woman by the name of Tracey Wharton. These little jars are perfect ways to document your best memories from the holidays or any day as a matter of fact.

For this project, all you need is a Jar, big or small, and some physical object that represents whatever memory you want to preserve. Let's say you went to paradise this summer and collected some shells and starfish off of the beach. You could throw in some sand, place in your shells and BAM! You have

a lovely little jar filled with a hint of the amazing experiences you had. Although, if you are collecting shells, make sure there aren't any little animals living in them!

Sometimes, you aren't allowed to take from provincial parks, and some things may not be allowed to be transported into your country, so do your research before doing anything you may regret in the future.

Breakfast in a Jar

Finally, a small life hack that literally saves me some mornings... ok, pretty much every morning. Breakfast in a jar is super easy and really healthy as well. When I make my jars, I use yogurt, granola, and some frozen fruit, and I just layer in in a jar until it's full. The best part is, these breakfasts are pre-makeable too! You can just make a few over the weekend, pop them in the fridge, and have breakfast on the go for the rest of the week.

This breakfast is so helpful, especially in the first months of school while you're still getting used to the normal hectic schedule. Not only do they save time in the morning, but they keep you alive for the rest of the day, or at least until lunch.

That concludes this blog of jars! Come back soon for more blogs, pic's and more.

May this everyday blog written by an everyday teenager make your day 1 in a million.
