The Wild Concept of Time

Anyone else deeply enjoying the extra hour of the day? Daylight saving time. Probably the best idea...ever! Not only do we get an extra hour of sleep, we have more time to do the stuff we need to do, which leads to my this blog's topic... time management.

I constantly find my time slipping through my fingers and I end up with literally no time to do what I wanted, let alone what I actually needed to do. A lot of the time just a quick look at my Instagram feed leads to hours of browsing the web, chatting with friends and watching pointless (but hilarious) cat videos. Time management can be really hard to get the hang of, but properly using our time is mandatory to surviving our teenage years, as well as, well, the rest of our lives.

I think the best way to get a start on time management is figuring out our priorities, and these are different for everyone. Social media, tv, internet, they are all BIG distractions for most of us. The thing is, no matter how hard I try to focus on doing my homework, my phone is constantly buzzing with notifications and interruptions.

I've realized that the best way to conquer this problem is just keeping my phone far away from me when I'm doing anything I prioritize.

Sadly, this isn't as easy said as it is done and completing this "goal" takes persistence and time to achieve.

How about using a calendar, planner, or organizer? Would writing every second of your day make a difference in how you manage your time? The answer is... probably not, because all the previously listed things run on clocks, aka. seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades, centuries, you get the point.

We run on time, meaning our age and to simplify, reality. No matter how hard we try, things will always be in the way, and things won't always go exactly our way because nothing is perfect. If we lived in a perfect world, our "priorities" would always be done and we'd have time to do the things we actually want to do.

Have you ever noticed how time either flies or takes forever to move on? Just the other night I couldn't fall asleep. Every time I looked at my clock to see the time, only a few minutes had passed, but it had felt like I was just lying there for hours!

Time is a tricky thing. Even while I was writing this blog, time blew past me. I just spent an hour on something that felt like minutes.

I don't think we will ever get a full reign on the wild concept of time, but I think we can get pretty close if we find something that works for us individually.

May this every day blog, written by an everyday teenager make your day 1 in a million.
